Each year in early August, we’re offered a powerful energetic gateway, known as the Lion’s Gate Portal. Peaking on 8 August (8/8), this time is deeply supportive for heart awakening, soul remembering, and manifestation. It’s an invitation to pause, tune in and reconnect with your higher self.

As we move through early August, the Sun is in the zodiac sign of Leo, and around this time, a bright star called Sirius becomes more visible in the sky. This creates a special alignment with the Earth and a group of stars known as Orion’s Belt. Ancient cultures, like the Egyptians and the Mayans, saw this as a powerful and sacred time. Many believe this alignment opens a kind of energetic doorway, allowing higher vibrations or “light energies” to flow to Earth. These energies are thought to help us wake up more to who we truly are, shift old patterns, and support us in growing into the next version of ourselves.

• A journal + pen

• A crystal like citrine, rose quartz or sunstone

• A small object to represent your intention (e.g., a feather, stone or affirmation card)

• A glass or bowl of water

Step-by-Step Ritual

1. Prepare Your Space Cleanse your space with sound, smoke or breath. Light your candle and welcome in the energy of the Lion’s Gate. Breathe deeply into your heart.

2. Journal to Awaken the Heart Use these prompts to open your heart and receive clarity:

• Where in my life am I ready to realign?

• What part of me wants to be expressed more fully?

• What truth am I ready to live out loud?

• What am I ready to release so I can grow?

3. Set Intentions with Intention Write down 1–3 clear intentions that begin with “I now align with...”Place this under your chosen object.

4. Activate with Light Hold your crystal or place hands over your heart. Speak aloud:

"I activate these intentions through the Lion's Gate. I walk forward with purpose, power and love."

5. Seal with a Water Blessing Hold the water and infuse it with love. Say:
